Bruce McKeen of Chico, California, was a Nepal III PCV forester who died in an accidental fall from a steep, slippery trail during the 1964 monsoon in southeastern Nepal. During our training program in Hawaii, we good-naturedly nicknamed him “Jungli Manis” (wild man), because of his upbringing in the mountains of northern California. Bruce was one of a dozen of the first foresters to serve in Nepal. He was kind, adventurous, and well-liked by all who knew him.
