Judith Marie Bosch (née Jacobsgaard)
Judy was a Peace Corps volunteer for several months at the Peace Corps office in Tehran, and with her husband, Marc, had just moved to a new post in Rezaiyeh (Ourmia), Iran. She died in a highway accident near Miyaneh on 29 April 1970. She was a kind friend to all those she met. Judy was personable, always helpful, and never afraid to stand her ground. She is remembered fondly by her family, friends and colleagues.
“I think of her often, I remember her well, places she’d take me, the stories she’d tell.”
“Those were her days.”
-Marc Bosch
Beautiful Marc,
Two nights ago at a wreath, making project at the ship, mill building museum in Essex, Massachusetts I met chelsea who started fallen Peace Corps volunteer‘s memorial project. I in conversation mentioned Peace Corps Iran and she said how old woman died in Peace Corps, Iran and then she added 1970 and I said do you know Judy Bosch? The conversation continued and seeing her pictures you both came flooding back to me and I wanted to reach out ever since. I I’d love to hear from you, Nancy.
I had not looked at the other photographs when I wrote the first note. Photos #3 & #4 are those I spoke of…taken outside the front gate to our home in Gorgetapeh.

We were in the same training group as Judy and Marc. Picture #1 of Judy was taken at our home in Gorgetapeh, Iran when they visited us. We also have a photo of Judy pulling water from the Quanat outside our front door. Judy was a wonderful person and her passing was a shock and sorrow to all her friends.
