From Mark Edens, Brian's brother:
"Brian was my younger brother born on Dec. 25, 1955 and he was my favorite. Fast forward to 1979, when he chose to join the Peace Corps, and you have an intelligent, caring, hard working young man who was searching for a purpose and he found a way of giving of himself to help the less fortunate.
When Brian arrived in Senegal and saw the extreme poverty, he knew his path was the right one and he was determined to do his best to help these unfortunate people. Call him an idealist, but he really cared and wanted to make a positive difference. I believe all of the volunteers feel this way and I recognize them as good and loving people and the best of the best. "
