I was Linda Robinson’s replacement in Tahoua, Niger, West Africa in 1977. She died from a sandstorm-induced asthma attack and did not have the proper means to stop it. Ironically, after my service in 1979 I met her brother at graduate school in Chicago, purely by chance. He told me all about her, and even though we never met, I still think about her and her family every day. A true loss.
I was in Tahoua during the sand storm in 1973. I am so glad There is finally a acknowledgement. For volunteers who passed on during their service. May she rest in peace
