PCV Susan Roberston died on June 2, 1967 in Washington, D.C. from head injuries sustained in an auto accident in Venezuela on May 14, 1967. She was one of three physical therapists in a group of mostly physical education teachers (Directed Recreation, University of Arizona 1966-68).
I was looking through this website and came accross this section and in a flash-back to my Washington, DC days as a member of the Foundary United Methodist Church Washington, DC members of my Young Adult ministry group were distress about the loss of Susan as they knew her and worked with her through the Peace Corps, and medical profession.
It wss the additional challenges of the emerging conflict of Vietnam in which workers at the Peace Corps at Washington, DC took every loss ever more serious, as the dedication and applications to Paace
Corps likewise was increasing as well. Susan worked very hard, and acording to my present memories stories about her waking up at 2 and 3 am and going over the previus days notes denoted her dedication and care she took to serve her fellow human beings.
